We made it! A post on a Friday! Granted, I only got one project done, but it feels like I am back on track. This week’s project was an infinity scarf. It’s a pretty simple pattern, something that can easily be done in a car or (as it is crochet – and thus the hook doesn’t set off security alarms) in a plane. I used a 4.50mm crochet hook; it gives a nice effect and the holes are not too big. I’ve made scarves like this before, and they are really comfortable. It’s a standard colour, and I’m hoping it will find a home soon.
In the picture you can see my ‘marker’ sticking out. I don’t have ‘real’ stitchmarkers – instead I use coloured paperclips. They do a marvelous job and brighten up the project while working on it. Maybe it’s silly, but sometimes silly works.
Onto the next project … I’m thinking of maybe knitting a cowl with a nice pattern on it. Maybe I’ll do some experimenting with cables… Is it obvious that I don’t really know what the next project will be yet?
Bye for now …
I’m so sorry guys! I was actually excited about posting something new, and then stuff got in the way and it never happened. The surprise is still in progress, even though it is confusing me and it’s becoming very frustrating … maybe I should have chosen a different second project.
Anyway, to make it up to everyone I made these little cuties for Valentine’s day. I hope everyone has lots of love in their lives; today as much as any other day. The hearts are semi-felted. They would look fuzzier if I had put them in the washing machine for another round, but there was no money left on the laundry card. They are very cute, and can even function as stress-balls. (I would know, as I have a statistics midterm tomorrow.)
Next week I don’t have school, so I am planning to knit a bunch and hopefully catch up with my projects. I was supposed to post project #3 tomorrow, but I won’t be able to make that deadline. I also don’t know what I will make yet. I’m thinking to crochet an infinity scarf; and we’ll see about the other projects. I will be on a plane for a bit, so if I start the infinity scarf tomorrow I can take my crochet hook aboard the plane. The pattern is very simple, but it makes for a nice warm scarf in the end.
Summary – stuff happens, but you have to catch up and make those deadlines (especially if you set them yourself!)
Come back soon 🙂
Hello there 🙂
So week 1 has flown by, and here I am … about to post about my first project. As I had mentioned before, my first project was a beanie for my friend. It turned out well I think, and I’m sure it will keep her ears warm in this Vancouver weather.
The pattern was simple enough, repeated 2knit 1purl. Over and over and over and over again, 2knit 1 purl. Then it was time to model the hat – which apparently meant stretch the yarn over the needles and drop a stitch all the way down. First project, first little heart-attack. But we survived, and the result turned out nice. On to the next
I’ve been browsing the internet for inspiration for the coming 51 weeks, and it’s hard to decide what to work on next. I found a cute pattern that I chose for project two. I would tell you, but it’s a surprise.
